Besides all that excitement, school started and fall is just around the corner. That means the toys are to be put away :( I can't believe it but I am actually thinking of selling my mustang for a travel trailer for the family. I must be gettting old..hehe.....our new hobby is camping and we all enjoy it!!! I just put in my head that one day I will have another....

I am getting about 30 hours at the bank and still loving it. It's actually nice to get up in the morning and actually want to go to work. I was very lucky to have found Brenda to watch the girls while we are at work...they just love her!!

So I guess that is about it for now! I hope that it doesn't take me another 4 months to update :) Hope all is well with everyone!!!!

Its been a while!

Well............where can I start!! Although I must admit that I am doing really well and I love it!! The girls are adjusting really well, I wasn't scared for Tiana but we all know that Trista on the other hand can be quite the gal...Poor thing, I am soooo impressed with her, she has been babysat by 3 different people in 4 weeks....but I must say that I am now happy that I found Brenda!!! Thank God for Brenda, she is going to be watching my girls from now on and they just LOVE her!!
I found out earlier this week that I am going to be an auntie to a beautiful baby BOY!!!...Thats right a boy, can't believe it!! I am super excited..............Also the BIG wedding is coming up on the 25 and we are all set for that.
I am a little late this year in taking out my stang but it will be out in the next few weeks and of course it will have a few new goodies...lol....I am actually going to miss the first mustang meet, it's crazy how working changes everything...:) Well, I think that is it for now!! Hope everything is going great with all of you!!!!!!!! Until next time........................................

A great weekend!!

We all had a great weekend!! The weather was so nice that we took advantage of it and had some family fun!! I realized that I have two little "tomboys," but of course what should I expect they are surrounded by cars, bikes, and boys......We went 4 wheeling all day Sunday and had a blast. Tiana now wants her own 4 wheeler so we are in the process of purchasing one for her with a pink helmet(of course). Trista on the other hand is a little skeptical of the whole driving thing but doesn't mind getting on with one of us. It will come I am sure, then the worrying will begin.
I also went to a passion party for the first time this weekend and actually found it interesting. I guess after two glasses of wine, who wouldn't? I learned that there are a lot of gadgets out there, some that are interesting and others that are pretty scary.......lol.....All in all it was just fun hanging out with the girls.
I guess I can say that my vacation is ending soon. I start my 6 week training on the 9th and it's 40/week. I am sure that I am going to have my hands full at the beginning until I can get everything on track. I am very anxious but I am sure everything is going to go smoothly once I start. The fun part is that I get to go shopping for some new clothes...woot woot can't wait!!
Besides all that there is actually nothing new on our end, just waiting for summer so we can get the toys out!! Hope you all have a great week.....here are some pics from the weekend!!

Being a mom.........

I got this off of Krystal .M. on facebook and I thought it was beautiful. It's a little long but worth it......

Being A Mom

We are sitting at lunch one day when my daughter casually mentions that she and her husband are thinking of "starting a family." "We're taking a survey," she says half-joking. "Do you think I should have a baby?" "It will change your life," I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral. "I know," she says, "no more sleeping in on weekends, no more spontaneous vacations." But that is not what I meant at all. I look at my daughter, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn in childbirth classes. I want to tell her that the physical wounds of child bearing will heal, but becoming a mother will leave her with an emotional wound so raw that she will forever be vulnerable. I consider warning her that she will never again read a newspaper without asking, "What if that had been MY child?" That every plane crash, every house fire will haunt her. That when she sees pictures of starving children, she will wonder if anything could be worse than watching your child die. I look at her carefully manicured nails and stylish suit and think that no matter how sophisticated she is, becoming a mother will reduce her to the primitive level of a bear protecting her cub. That an urgent call of "Mom!" will cause her to drop a souffle or her best crystal without a moments hesitation. I feel that I should warn her that no matter how many years she has invested in her career, she will be professionally derailed by motherhood. She might arrange for childcare, but one day she will be going into an important business meeting and she will think of her baby's sweet smell. She will have to use every ounce of discipline to keep from running home, just to make sure her baby is all right. I want my daughter to know that every day decisions will no longer be routine. That a five year old boy's desire to go to the men's room rather than the women's at McDonald's will become a major dilemma. That right there, in the midst of clattering trays and screaming children, issues of independence and gender identity will be weighed against the prospect that a child molester may be lurking in that restroom. However decisive she may be at the office, she will second-guess herself constantly as a mother. Looking at my attractive daughter, I want to assure her that eventually she will shed the pounds of pregnancy, but she will never feel the same about herself. That her life, now so important, will be of less value to her once she has a child. That she would give herself up in a moment to save her offspring, but will also begin to hope for more years, not to accomplish her own dreams, but to watch her child accomplish theirs. I want her to know that a cesarean scar or shiny stretch marks will become badges of honor. My daughter's relationship with her husband will change, but not in the way she thinks. I wish she could understand how much more you can love a man who is careful to powder the baby or who never hesitates to play with his child. I think she should know that she will fall in love with him again for reasons she would now find very unromantic. I wish my daughter could sense the bond she will feel with women throughout history who have tried to stop war, prejudice and drunk driving. I want to describe to my daughter the exhilaration of seeing your child learn to ride a bike. I want to capture for her the belly laugh of a baby who is touching the soft fur of a dog or cat for the first time. I want her to taste the joy that is so real it actually hurts. My daughter's quizzical look makes me realize that tears have formed in my eyes. "You'll never regret it," I finally say. Then I reached across the table, squeezed my daughter's hand and offered a silent prayer for her, and for me, and for all the mere mortal women who stumble their way into this most wonderful of callings.

Love you my angels!! xoxo

RBC here I come!!!!!

I received my phone call yesterday and I start training on the 9th of April. I am sooooooooo excited and can't wait to be part of a great team. I am a little nervous but very happy, I have wanted this for a while now. The only thing Trista called me yesterday from daycare crying and told me that she wanted to come home and that she doesn't want to go there EVER again. Great!! That is just what I wanted to hear, she was doing so well. I have one month to work on that and get things ready.

Besides all that excitement I finally got the girls their webkinz, thank God! I am very proud of them they are doing very well with them, they check online everyday to make sure that they don't " get dead" (in the words of Trista Lee).

I am still in the Debbie Travis mood, I guess I get like that when I know spring is coming. Well, at least I thought spring was coming until last night.....crazy storm. As for this weekend it will probably be very quiet, maybe take out the banshee tomorrow and do a little laundry.

Tiana slept out last night and she is sleeping out again tonight, she has quite the social life. The house feels empty without her and Trist is lost when she is not around. Tiana is growing up so fast it scares me it seems like it wasn't too long ago that I was doing the same things.

We have no big plans for March break except to finish up around the house and maybe relax. That's all for now.................................................Have a great weekend!!
Angie and Paula I hope you are enjoying your trips and taking lots of pics!!

Interview # 3 completed.....

I had my 3rd interview today with the bank manager and it was a success. I wasn't as nervous this time around probably because I am getting used to the whole interview thing. I am waiting for a call for my last interview through Halifax and hopefully everything goes well and then I can get myself back into the workforce. I am really anxious to go to work and have a little time for me again. I loved being home with my girls and I wouldn't change it for the world. In the long run they will appreciate that. That is all for now!!! Congrats Arrah, I am very proud of you!!! :)

Friday, February 16, 2007

Well, it's been a while so I figured I would write a little something. It's been a busy week. I had my first job interview today over the phone and I must say I think I did pretty well. I forgot how nervous I can get when I have to do something important! We will keep our fingers crossed and hopefully I will get called back for step #2. Getting in the routine with the girls might be challenging but I am more than ready to get back out there in the workforce.
Besides all that fun stuff, we as parents had to experience the first big punishment with Tiana. My little angel had word wars on paper at school with her little "boyfriend", I won't repeat but lets just say I didn't even know she knew all that!! That was a little surprising for us and a little hard to digest because in our eyes of course OUR kids do no wrong...haha.....What surprised us the most was when she was caught in the act the teacher sent home a note for us to read and sign but we never recieved it. (It suddenly showed up in the SNOWBANK the next day, kids are very cute sometimes! ) . It was very difficult to see her upset but we took away her gameboy and she was not aloud to sleep out at her friend Myah's. I guess that is just the beginning of all the fun stuff that we are going to go through with our little ones. I am not anxious for Trista because I am sure we will be finding lots of notes in the snow bank...ha ha....
My renovations are finally done for now, next is our flooring in the kitchen and dinning room but that will be done in the spring.
I have been looking everywhere for webkinz, I finally found some at Jean Coutu. Stupid me, I could have easily got them on ebay but for some reason never thought of it.
We went four wheeling on the weekend and let me tell you I am out of shape. I could hardly move the next day. We had a wonderful day and the weather was great, the bike runs awesome!! Can't wait until the snow is gone so I can really try it because with all that snow all it does is spin.

All in all I am glad that the weekend is here for some relaxation!! Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

It's been a while since I posted so I figured I would write a quick one. It's been a very busy two weeks with the bathroom renovations. Who would of thought it would have been so much work but $2500.00 later I have to say it paid off. Now we have to do the floor in the kitchen and dinning room in the spring. Can't wait for that...ha ha......I think Ian is ready to put a for sale sign....lol......My dad always told me "You are never finished when you own a house", now I know what he meant.
All is well here, we all can't wait for spring so we can take out the toys! The girls hate winter and they never want to play outside. I remember when I was their age my brother and I would go outside for hours and make tunnels. Not my girls, we took them sliding on Sunday and not even 10 minutes after they wanted to come back in....So, I gave up on that one..ha ha.
Before I forget I want to wish Tara a Happy birthday and I can't wait to see that angel of yours, give her lots of kisses for me. That is all for now and I hope everyone has a great week!!! :)

I got this from a post on nbriders and I thought that it was sooooooo true! I enjoyed reading it so I figured you all might.....

"According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 60's, 70's and early 80's probably shouldn't have survived, because our baby cots were covered with brightly coloured lead-based paint which was promptly chewed and licked.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, or latches on doors or cabinets and it was fine to play with pans.
When we rode our bikes, we wore no helmets, just thongs. As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or airbags and riding in the passenger seat was a treat.
Or if we were in the back and the front seat became free, climbing through the middle over the console to ride in the front was no big deal, we just 'had to be quick' We drank water from the garden hose not from a bottle, and it tasted good.
We ate chips, bread and butter with hundreds & thousands and drank creaming soda, but we weren't overweight because we were always outside playing. We shared one can of drink with four friends, and no-one cared.
We would spend hours building go-carts out of scraps and went top speed down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into stinging nettles a few times, we learned.....to find a new hill to go down and that thicker soled shoes would stop us quicker.
We would leave home in the morning and allowed to play all day, just as long as we were back before it got dark.
No one was able to reach us and no one minded. We didn't have Play stations or X-Boxes. We didn't have 99 channels on TV with surround sound, no mobile phones, no DVDs, no Internet chat rooms.
We had friends - we went outside and found them. We played elastics, bull rush and brandings, and sometimes that ball really hurt! We fell out of trees, got cut, and broke bones but there were no law suits.
We had full on fist fights but no prosecution followed from other parents. We played knock-and-run-and were actually afraid of the owners catching us. We walked to friends' homes.
We also, believe it or not, WALKED to school; we didn't rely on mummy or daddy to drive us to school, which was just round the corner.
We made up games with sticks and tennis balls. We rode bikes in packs of 7 and wore our coats by only the hood. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of...they actually sided with the law.

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. And you're one of them. Congratulations! Pass this on to others who have had the luck to grow as real kids, before lawyers and government regulated our lives, for our own good. For those of you who aren't old enough, thought you might like to read about us. This my friends, is surprisingly frightening......and it might put a smile on your face: The majority of students in universities today were born in 1986........they are called youth. They have never heard of We are the World, We are the children, and the Uptown Girl they know is by Westlife not Billy Joel. They have never heard of Rick Astley, Bananarama, Nena Cherry or Belinda Carlisle. For them, there has always been only one Germany and one Vietnam. AIDS has existed since they were born. CD's have existed since they were born. Michael Jackson has always been white. To them John Travolta has always been round in shape and they can't imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance. They believe that Charlie's Angels and Mission Impossible are films from last year. They can never imagine life before computers. They'll never have pretended to be the A-Team, the Dukes of Hazard or the Famous Five. They can't believe a black and white television ever existed. And they will never understand how we could leave the house without a mobile phone. Now let's check if we're getting old... 1. You understand what was written above and you smile. 2. You need to sleep more, usually until the afternoon, after a night out. 3. Your friends are getting married/already married 4. You are always surprised to see small children playing comfortably with computers. 5. When you see children with mobile phones, you shake your head. Having read this mail, you are thinking of forwarding it to some Other friends because you think they will like it too... Yes, you're Getting old!!"

Yes, we finally got it! After almost two years without one we decided it's time to have another one! Last Wednesday we took a little trip to Sussex and picked up a 99' Banshee and for those who are saying "what the hell is that?" It's a four wheeler!! It needs a little work to the engine but nothing Ian can't fix. It will be a couple of weeks before we can actually drive it but that makes me even more excited to try it out. Should be lots of fun in the summer back in the pits in Balmoral!
Stayed home all weekend trying to get rid of this cold, yuck! We had some visitors on Saturday night, Arrah and Wes stopped in. It was really nice to see them and I hope that Wes enjoyed all the bike videos, I am sure he must have bugged Arrah all night for one! Don't forget Wes, you can be pit crew anytime...ha ha.....The girls are still talking about you guys, they said they want to go visit..so I guess we will have to do that sometime.
I cant believe that January is flying by so fast, I am going to have to start taking my engine apart in my stang and get her ready. I want to take her out at the end of March this year and by the way it's going it looks pretty good, if the snow can hold off. We have some major overhaulin' to do and I can't wait, she is going to be loud and pretty!! Well, that is all for now.......Have a great week!!

Congrats to Jill&Scott, so exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!! TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some more pics.....Sorry it's a little mixed up because I posted wrong but I am sure you all get it!! ...I am still learning about this whole blog thing so be patient with me....ha ha

Just thought that I would post some pics of the party on new years eve.....We all had a blast and it was really nice seeing Raymond, Cindy and the boys, Marie-France, Maurice and the kids!! I actually stayed up until 3 am and to those that know me they know that its a miracle...ha ha..
Ian and I are also celebrating our 8 year anniversary today, I can't believe it...time sure does fly! We are going out for supper at the Manoir and then back home for a nice quiet night. The weekend should be a quiet one so we can all be ready for school on Monday....Thank God school is starting back up because the girls are constantly fighting, they are not used to being together all day long! That is all for now, hope everyone has a great weekend!

Love you with all my heart babe and hope we share many more happy years together!
